A Thousand Mornings is a very thoughtful poetry collection by Mary Oliver. If you haven’t read any of Mary Oliver’s works yet, I highly recommend that you do. Her poetry collections usually center around nature, peace, and self-reflection. So, if you love these kinds of poems, you should check her other poetry books.
This poetry collection was such a refreshing read for me. It may be a little weird for me to say this but when I read poetry books, I sort of get myself into the mood that the book was supposed to give. With that said, I read A Thousand Mornings quite literally one pleasant morning. Reading this collection while the sun was shining bright was a very lovely experience for me.
Here are some of my favorite quotes and lines from the collection:
Have I lived enough?
Have I loved enough?
Have I considered Right Action enough,
have I come to any conclusion?
Have I experienced happiness with sufficient gratitude?
Have I endured loneliness with grace?
I say this, or perhaps I’m just thinking it.
Actually, I probably think too much.

Don’t you dare climb that tree
or even try, they said, or you will be
sent away to the hospital of the
very foolish, if not the other one.
and I suppose, considering my age,
it was fair advice.

I rate this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars.
