The Rise of Ning | Drama Review
Initial Thoughts
After being accused of causing her stepmother’s miscarriage, Luo Yi Ning (Ren Min) was sent away for years. Upon her return to the family house, she deals with problems in their household and uncovers mysteries and the truth about her mother’s death.
Our FL, Yi Ning, is quite clever, logical, and loyal while our ML, Luo Shan Yuan (Zhang Wan Yi), is calm and collected. Both are smart individuals and have a strong understanding with each other. Personally, I think their dynamic is awesome, and the slow build of their relationship is really engaging. Slow-burn romance is not actually my thing, but I’m appreciating it in this drama.
Honestly, I was kinda worried I might not like the romance aspect of this drama since the premise is that the FL & ML are siblings and everybody’s aware I hate the siblings-but-apparently-not (fake siblings) trope/logic in dramas. LOL. Fortunately, there are no scenes yet that make me to throw my morals away just so the leads can be together (so far).
I’m 15 episodes in and so far, the drama started a bit slow but thankfully the story does not drag too much, which I appreciate, as most cdramas tend to do that.
